Default ATF in gastank

i heard that if injectors are clogged then run half bottle of ATF in gas tank with a half tank of gas and a full bottle with a full tank and it will clean out the injectors really good, any truth to this or what?

Um. ATF is motor oil. Why would you put detergent oil in your gas tank?

Or do you have one of the ultra-rare 2-stroke Civic engines?

never heard that one before. Just get a bottle of injector cleaner its cheep and is less likely to screw things up. I do know of people that sub a bottle of atf for oil when they change their oil.

Me thinks you hang out with the triangle worshippers (rotary heads) too much. ATF is commonly used among higher mileage rotarys to help the apex seals hold out (run a bit in the motor and then drain and refill with regular oil), but i've never heard of it doing anything for fuel or the like.

Moral of the story? Don't do it.

get a decent fuel injector cleaner or send them to xeno to get a real cleaning.
