online --> update firmware
make sure all the drivers are updated as well.
have you tried uninstalling smanager and downloading the software again?

one of my customers from canada had this problem..... i ended up having to email him the file. i dont think he ever figured it out. ive never had the problem here to try to figure it out.
have you tried a different laptop? only reason i ask is the when the car from canada came to me.....i was able to pull the file out of his ECU no problem (and was also able to instantly tell why he was breaking so many engines
)

ive tried it on a friend of mines laptop also and it didnt work on my ecu so i tried mine and same thing so we thought maybe it was my ecu so we tried both laptops on his ecu and got the same results, im realy woundering if the newest version of smanager is the problem you think it would be smart to try and load the older version that came on the disc and see the outcome of that
This is something that the original tuner may have done to protect his program. Not saying it definetly is, but it is something that is possible as we have seen it before. If the program was protected by the tuner then there isnt much that can be done other than starting over with a new tune.

That is not the case. Smanager does not have a calibration protection system.

I know that Hondata doesnt have calibration protection, but there are ways for the tuner to protect his tune. It's the same thing that can be done with AEM. Everyone knows that you can't protect an AEM box through the original software, but there are ways to secure your maps.

ive seen this happen many times and its even happened to me. google that error message. its just a bug in smanager. nobody knows howto fix it. hondata doesnt know why it does that sometimes.
i never had a problem on my new laptop with the latest version of smanager. then i started using a different laptop and it would give me that error when trying to download. i tried everything then finally found a couple versions older smanager on my computer and installed that and got rid of the new version and it doesnt give me that error. it has nothing to do with the new version though because ive used it on other laptops just fine.
if you want to try an older version let me know and i can email it to ya.
