I'm far from an expert, but just wanted to throw this out there.

Check your sensors, crank sensor, o2 sensor, and your pcv.

That is a really odd problem, was it doing this before the tune-up?

You probably checked but make sure your fuel filter isn't on backwards.

Someone on here can def help you.

Good luck with it.

Nick

thanks it started doing it bout a month after the plugs and cap ,rotor, so i changed the feul filter and wires and it still does it.... does it throw a code if any of the sensors arent working properly. ive took this car to a bunch of backyard mechanics and everyones stumped. even to the deisel mechanic at our shop and no clue what it could be.

So it only happens when you give it say 50% or more throttle?

yeah anything more than just enough to make it excellerate.. it just pops and sputters but no engine light. the otherday it died so i hopped out with an extra plug to check if it had spark and it did.... so i thought it was a fuel problem so i grabbed a can of starting fluid and sprayed it in and it still wouldnt fire.. thats why im leaning toward distributor.but it cost$$$$ just to change and it still have the problem.. maybe not getting enough spark under excelleration or a load like up a hill

Well i know from the boneheads on cartalk that a weak coil will let the car idle and run fine at low RPMs, but under load there's not enough time to charge the spark plugs with a good hot spark.

Give me a pm with your email address and I'll send you info on how to test the resistance and stuff with an ohm meter.
