Default Vacuum leak issues...

Hey folks!
I've got a vacuum leak. I'm assuming it's because with my stupid mini kit, they cut the intake manifold to shorten it, and secured the two halves using silicone intercooler hose and clamps. I can't get at these things without removing the whole motor, so I'm avoiding that for now, and am just dealing with the fact that my idle rotates between 700rpm and 1400rpm ... rollercoaster style. No big deal.

But I'm also having another issue which I'm not sure is related, and I was wondering if you guys could give me some insights and opinions as to the source of this other gremlin.

When I'm on the highway, because of my teeny wheels and 4.7 final drive, I'm doing about 50 / 55mph at 3500rpms in 5th gear. Occasionally (seemingly randomly) when I try to go over 4k rpms, it feels like the ECU cuts power ... feels like it's just shutting the butterfly in the intake; but I know it's cable operated so that can't be happening. What's weird though is that the motor will happily rev to 8k in the other gears (except once it did this while I was accelerating on an onramp and I just lost power). Does this sound like anything related to having a vacuum leak? Is the ECU sensing it and saying "STOP!"?

Very weird. Any help / input / whatever would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

- Adam

Are you throwing any codes when this happens?

At startup, it's throwing a code 11, which as far as I can see, doesn't exist...

But I can't tell if it throws a separate code while I'm driving and the power failure occurs. I'll try to check that out.
