Default where to buy 5"-2.5" aluminum transition?

I've looked up aluminum cones and funnels on google and I havent come up with anything that would work. I'm building an intake manifold and i need something thicker than a thin funnel.

why so thick?

would 1/16th not work?
I could fabricate you one, but not out of 1/8th

You may have to have it machined out of a chunk of aluminum. 2.5-5" is a tall order for tubing, so for thicker metal, you may be SOL. Even if you find it, it will likely be cast.

You can usually find cutoffs on ebay for a decent price, then have a local machine shop run it through quickly. You might work out a deal since they're keeping 90% of the material as recyclable scrap.

how do you think a .060 wall transition will support the TB and flange weight plus the vibrations from the intake tube? Too thin for my taste. I think 1/8 would be a way safer choice.

at this point I think I will get some annealed aluminum sheet and beat it in to the desired shape

"beating" it will make a horribly ugly part.
dont you think a 1/16th tube would support it? well the transition would be stringer than that.

good luck though.

0.125 aluminum would be way to hard to form into a cone. ive made custom cones for customers before and ive found it best to use 0.080 alum...perfect comprimise. 1/16th alum is just too hard to weld without a decent amount of experience. feel free to contact me if you need help with it

dude, its a cone. Its going to be insanely strong, similar to the "Standing on eggshells" trick. I would rock some 0.065" anyday. Aluminum isn't as weak as your making it sound.

its supporting the weight horizontally, not in vertical compression.

You could always get a few transitions (availible at Burns for instance) and weld them together, 2.5-3.5 + 3.5-4.5 + 4-5 (cut at 4.5). Not sure how the cost would compare to getting a full transition machined out of aluminum stock, might not look as nice either but its an option.

2.75 (CHANGED FROM THE ORIGINAL by customer) X 5 X 6.5 LONG

delivered only welded on inside so outside welds will match rest of manifold
