TURBO CAR 1/4 passes which tranny is best LS/B16/type r /GSR
ok heres the situation , i am currently running an LS tranny on my h2b setup , completely built on a gt3776, car made 490whp and 378wtq at 21psi,
took it last week on a street tire which spun the whole track which i noticed after watching the video. 2passes 12.5 120mph and 12.2 at 123mph with 2.0 60footer i will return on a slick tomorrow and actually put the gears in harder comapred to leaving a big pause in between.
now my question is what tranny to go with , my buddy said see what rpm the ls is when you finish the track in 4th and then we will decided.
i know you honda tech guys always know best.

94-01 gsr trans
Tire diameter in inches 24.5
Maximum engine speed (RPM) 8500
Gear ......ShiftRPM .....Speed @ 8500 RPM
1st..... N/A ......... 43.6
2nd .... 5000 ........... 74.1
3rd .... 6084 .......... 103.5
4th .... 6462 ........... 136.2
judging from that calculator, it seems like it would drop out of your power band in between gears, that being the case. rev the **** out of it
here is a b16 trans (same tire dia/rev limit)
................speed @ 8500rpm
1st...... N/A..... 43.6
2nd ...... 5539 ..... 66.9
3rd .... 5887....... 96.6
4th .... 6454........ 127.2
