Somebody broke into my 93 civic ex and snapped the ignition switch off the steering column, it still started and ran fine. I bought another switch so i could reattach the igniton switch to the column. Now the car wont start or even attempt too. Any ideas? I dont know if I installed the switch right, due to the various wires you attach to the switch. is there something I need to know about the order you install a new switch or the wires. or did something else happen. Any help is appreciated. thanks

 

Does it crank but not turn over? Does it click but not crank? be more specific

 

No crank at all, nothing is getting power, the key has full movement in the cylinder, but nothing happens at all.

 

have you tryed putting the old one in and giving it a try again. is the ignition switch new or a use one that u bought??

 

The old one doesnt work either. the new one I bought was a salvaged one off a working car. I dont know if the ignition is dead, something else happened or maybe the alarm that was already on the car is stopping the ignition from working, but i dont know. Is there a way to test the system to see what is going on, thanks
