Mysteriously disappearing radiator fluid
Hello, I was wondering if anyone else has had the following problem with their automatic '92 Honda (3DR) DX:
Sometimes the engine gets hot and then overheats due to mysteriously disappearing radiator fluid. The water pump is 11 months old. The thermostat is 7 months old. The radiator and radiator fan are two weeks old. The radiator passed a pressure test last week. The engine oil looks normal (no milkiness). While the engine is idling I don't see any leakages.
The overheating and fluid-loss problem began after the radiator and radiator fan were replaced (two weeks ago).
Could an underpowered radiator fan have anything to do with fluid loss?
Thanks,
Ben

i had the same problem my car had a very tiny pin hole in one of my hoses it would not leak out just steam when driving could not even see it. mit check it out after you are done w a drive run you hands around your hoses all of them mile was a small intake manifold hose and feel for steam comming out.
check the head gasket if it was overheated a small crack may allow fluid to leak and burn off leaveing you wondering where your fluid is going hope that helps good luck

Agreed, this happened on my EK!
Does the car have any CEL's?
Also, does the car shake at start up sometimes?

I have the tiniest coolant leak from where the lower hose connects to the radiator. You can never see it dripping, it just feels a little wet sometimes. I lose a decent amount in about a month, but I keep my eye on it. Check all your connections for wet spots.
