paid $574 cash/picked up for my v3 70mm single and 70mm test pipe.

fitment, quality, both great. made decent power, HORRIBLE drone with top up. It was ok with the silencer in, but then it sounded like crap and felt slower than stock.

ended up selling it and picked up a j's 70RR.

thank you this was very helpful reply. droning was my main concern. how is the j's droning? i hear mugen has the least droning.

do you think the test pipe made the droning worse than if it was just the catback? a buddy of mine has a maxima with greddy exh and some header and said the header caused the exh to have bad droning...

test pipe just makes everything louder and changes the tone/pitch of the exhaust noise. I never ran without a test pipe, so I wouldn't know.

Generally the deeper the tone is, the worse the drone is. The j's surprisingly has very little drone, but there is so much more volume than the invidia. If you want good performance with little drone, go for the T1R 70R-EM...

I have a tanabe Hyper Medallion and the drone is not bad, and it sounds great when you rip into VTEC.

My 63mm TP is on its way.

don't get me wrong, the invidia sounds great! but that drone comes right through the soft top and makes your ears bleed at times. if they top isn't down i have both windows cracked just to let some of the sound get out. i really with i knew it was going to be this loud i would just went spoon n1 or bought a j's in the beginning.
