Default Windows very slow...already read other threads

97 accord ex

my windows have been bad ever since i bought the car, but it is unbearable now. i keep spraying silicone grease in the channels but that seems to wear off in a few days. and i spray A LOT of grease. Also, the driver side window keeps going out of the channel at the very top (which may be unrelated). do i need to install new motors and weatherstripping or is there a cheaper fix?

90-97 Accords have notorious problems with window regulators and window seals. Replace the window regulators and if they still aren't as fast as your like try new window seals.

First off you did good by lubing up the channels, but dont use silicone spray. Thats mainly for rubber to metal contact. Use more of a white lithium grease. Also check to make shure your chanells are lined up right. They could be alittle off causing it to bind up. Also you could try to change the motor itself.

If you install new regulators you need to make sure you put the new ones on exactly the way the old ones were on or you may have problems getting everything to work properly. Before disconnecting the window motor I drilled a hole through the gear part of the regulator and the part behind it and put a bolt through it so the angle wouldn't change.
