I've looked all around the window posts but couldn't determine an answer to this question.

Do the clips at the bottom of a window (doesn't matter which one cus they all the same) only come with a new window? Based on the schematics I've seen it looks like it only comes with a new window.

The problem I face isn't the typical motor or fuse or switch with a faulty window but rather the window has come out of the clips on the track. I can still power the window up but cannot bring it down unless by hand.

When it happen with my back window I just layered duct tape until it filled the clips enough to hold. That seems to be working ok but it's back window and rarely gets used plus it's redneck style fix.

Now it's happened with my driver window and I fear the duct tape method may not hold with heavy use.

Are there other methods to truly fix this without buying a new window?

If anyone knows of a post please let me know and I apologize for the re-post.

In my experience, no. Every time it's happened to me I've ended up having to buying a new window. It seems like once they come out of the clips the first time they're done.

You can find a salvage one here for $40-60: Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market Which is a lot more reasonable than $145.
