Suggestions on installing a turbo kit for a 98 civic SiR.
Hey guys! I just got this SiR of mine of around 5 months now. It used to be my brother's but he passed it on to me, and I've slowly been upgrading it. I'm kind of a newbie when it comes to cars. I don't really know much since I wasn't really into cars until I got my own. So I hope you could explain things to me as clear as it could be. hehe
Anyways, I just wanted to know your thoughts on installing a turbo kit for my car. Is it doable? Or is it something I shouldn't do? I here it is a lot of maintenance yes, but I was wondering if its something I could do with my car, or will it break it slowly?
Thanks a lot.

yes it is doable. Yes there is a lot of things to do. If this is the first car that you are going to mod, it might be safer to do something other than a turbo set up.
If you are going to daily drive it, you need to be pretty familiar with how a turbo'd civic runs. Unless you have some cash to throw away, i would start with some N/A tuning to get yourself familiar with hondas.

turbo it and get a good tune, you'll be fine if you stick around 5-10psi and dont beat the **** out of it. Im sure eventually it'll wear out, but by than you will probally want more power and want to do a better build and bump up the boost.
i would definetly boost it...like what was said before, 10lbs wont kill ya....dont try being tom cruise in days of thunder and drop the hammer until you get used to it
