97 Civic DX O2 Sensor, HELP!
I have a 97 civic dx and having problems with my O2 sensors. Just replaced them frm Advanced Auto with Bosch sensors: UP 13007 DOWN 13249.
The stock upstream had a rubber sleeve which the bosh upstream didnt have, but the downstream bosh did, and the downstream stock didnt. I thought maybe the O2 sensors were flipped when the parts store told me which one was which, but after double checking they werent.
I got the numbers off my stock O2 sensors and was hoping someone could help me cross reference, maybe my civic has an EX exhaust manifold on it prior to my knowing. Here are the stock O2 sensor numbers i found eteched into them:
UP: NS6 065500-9770 09R05
DOWN:NS6 5500-9061 09R03
If anyone knows another way to tell whats going on please let me know.
I know its an O2 sensor problem because with them plugged in a fuse blows, with them unplugged no fuse problems.
Thanks

Functionally speaking, it doenst matter...all 4-wire o2 sensors for Hondas are the same.
So them being switched around isnt the issue.
I suggest you return them both, claiming theyre bad, as it seems they are, and get Denso or NGK. These are the oem suppliers.
Bosch, even the ones that work at all, dont last long in a Honda.
Which fuse is blowing, btw?

The Speedometer and Altenator fuse (7.5amp) is the one that blows when the O2 sensors are connected. When unconnected it doesnt blow. Problem initally started when the engine light came on, i took it to the parts store to have the computer read, and was told the O2 sensors were bad. I decided not to replace them right away because money was tight, and then all of a sudden the speedometer stopped working, i changed the fuse and it kept blowing. I then replaced the O2 sensors, fuse didnt blow (engine light was still on) and i was driving the car for about 2 weeks, and then the fuse just started to blow again, unhooked the O2 sensors and no fuse problem.
