This is a common problem. If the regulator is bent then usually it has to be replaced.

How did you figure auto windows would be less expensive? Usually manual regulators are very cheap, I replaced my girlfriends accord one and it was like $40 OEM. You can try spraying the run channel with silicone spray and cleaning that out too, sometimes that helps depending how dirty it is.

i think i have the same problem like this. my window started to make a loud clicking noise and the window wouldn't close all the way to the top. and my mechanic said that it might be my regulator or it might be something else

its a 98 civic EX with power windows

I have a 96 hx and my drivers side power window is hosed.

ive pulled the door skin off and keep a 10 mm just to put it back on track in the event it rains.

any good info on how to fix these. how to set up the tracts what part of the reg normaly gets bent.

I am thinking that the door skin is important and helps keep in the track any help will be help full.. the ac is inop on this car also.

i have a 98 ex also and this just happened to me. The window fell completly off track yesterday, thought i had it fixed and had to tear it all apart today again after it fell off AGAIN. Someone told me that it may be just the track, but I dont see how to replace that? Im thinking its just the regulator also, that something's bent in the front part because thats where its falling off track at. I also heard a loud clank noise a few times the past month or so, but the window worked fine at the time.

are the regulators hard to change or is it pretty basic? I have power windows if it matters in that case.
