Default Bringing back to life an old legend of the street/track

its been about 3 years since i took my crx off the streets... due to multiple ref tickets within a week. But after thinkin back in the days when 12s 1/4 was fast, racing under the bridge at roxford and glenoaks used to be the place to win some money! ive decided to bring the king of the valley back into action. Dont know if any of you recall a type r yellow 91 crx rolling on mugen mf10L, well i got her still and im gonna take you guys through the long process of putting her back together. Im looking to slap a JDM front end on and the motor well cant tell you whats going in her yet but lets just say im coming out with a bang to reclaim the streets.

All that friggin niftyness inside and you still have a regular unsealed battery? Please tell me that it is just sitting there because you didn't want it on the garage floor during storage.

The title made me think this was going to be Ed Bergenholtz's car. So why is this so legendary? It looks like a regular gutted CRX to me. Or did I miss something? Either way good luck with the project.

Says the guy that posts too much, but doesn't actually know that much about cars. Are people still into the battery on the floor myth? (Plus, Optima's are the worst battery ever made if that was what you were implying)

My thoughts exactly... you're not going to do that anymore, Jdmintegr.

ok so ill answer question one about the batter, it had a battery box in it about 10 mins befor i took the pic, the box is actually going into a spfwd car so that answers that, ed bergs old car was crazy, what makes this car so legendary was back in the roxford and glenoaks day that car owned the streets been awhile now! and the orginal motor setup was all motor b16, than turbo setup, back to all motor b20 to now i wont tell at least not yet, oh and yeah optima batteries do suck but its better to cover up that hole in my car with something than have a hole in it where spiders and rats could get in! so yeah

this car looks scary, the fuel cell along with the battery, no rear bumper reinforcment. id assume u cut up the front one too for weight reduction. can't imagine what u did to the doors to lighten them up. you're basically dead in any sort of accident.

But to each his own, at least you win street races

mt thoughts too.

Why make a build thread and then not tell or show what is being built. If he didnt want us to know yet, he shouldnt have made a thread yet. After this is a page or two long, everyone who comes onto this thread for the first time will say..."hey man I didnt read, what motor are you runnin yo?" and he will most likely get tired of the same damn question. Whatever it is, we have seen it before. Unless its like a viper engine or something, its not new.

Owell, I just hope he doesnt actually street race with it anymore.
