Default burn out my gauges

hey everyone,
i got a question. i recently foiled up and and burnt out my rpm and speedometer gauges by accident. they're not burnt burnt, but they're no charge going to them. is there any kind of voltage regulator or anything i can get to fix the problem, or do i just need to find another gauge cluster.

did you check fuses? thats where I would start. the check wiring make sure nothing is grounding and everything is all plugged in. also what do you mean by burnt? how exactly did you do this?

well, the fuse was blown so i had replaced it. but what i mean by burnt, is that i was changing out some bulbs in the back of the cluster and i wasn't thinking very smartly and put tinfoil behind the gauges in the back of the housing to try and reflect the light to it would be brighter. the problem here as u might assume is that the contacts on the back of the gauges had made contact with the foil and so henceforth the gauges have no voltage going to them because they're burnt out

so it sounds to me like you may have fried the circuitry on the back, i may be wrong but i know you can replace parts of the cluster without replacing the entire cluster, try starting there

yeah i know i can do that, but i was wondering if there was a voltage regulator that i could buy instead to fix the problem instead of buying a whole new (new or used) cluster.

can you post up a picture of what your circuitry looks like on the back of the cluster? i mean i know its possible but i don't think you fried anything like that. I mean unless there is obvious burn marks or w/e. Now you could have fried some of the circuits that are actually part of the speedo/tach/etc (IE #11, 13, and 14 just note how you can see stuff behind the face, which is what i'm talking about.)

Edit: forgot the link
