Raspy, in the worst way.
Ok, so I have a 4-1 header and Tsudo cat-back exhaust, my car had a nice deep tone with no ricey rasp sounds at all. I bought a Testpipe off of Ebay that has a resonator in it, now it sounds really ricey. What I'm asking is if that resonator in the test pipe should be replaced with a better one or if it is something inside my pre-existing exhaust that is sounding like that?
why would you get a testpipe with a resonator? the point of getting one is to get one with THE LEAST restriction. anyways, anytime you add an exhaust part, you change the tone. i know when i had my greddy evo II rewelded after its been smashed, it sounded terrible.
the ebay test pipes are gay, i knew a kid that bought one for his em2 mad his car sound like ****, also it was longer than the cat piping so it bent down, rattled, and made his check engine light come on.
Ok, no kidding about the ebay test pipes being pure junk... Mine was okay except for the sound. That is until a couple of days ago when the resonator broke on the inside, and after $40 bucks and a trip around town to find someone that didn't care about getting a fine for working illegally working around where the cat is supposed to be, I finally am happy with the $hit.
