Not sure if it is normal, but in 2nd gear, once i reach about 3-3.5k it starts to make a weird whistling noise.
it also does it in 3rd, but not as loud as in 2nd.

Does anybody else have this problem?

any more information you can provide? we have very noisey engines and it can be a lot of things. throw out bearing, fuel injectors, vaves need adjusting etc...

 

its your throttle body most likely.. i had the same problem with my gsr.. it would whistle around 2500-3500 rpms .. i swapped the throttle body and its good to go now.. granted it probobly could be a number of things.. but that was my issue and yours sounds similar. good luck

 

whisting like a sucking noise, thats just your intake its more noticable on bserise

and how much would it cost?
i wouldn't know, this is my first car. therefore, i am a great noob.

and im hoping its just the intake.

it most likely is. They all tend to do that.

 

I have a Type R in my EK with a cold air intake, and under partial throttle my intake will whistle loud enough to make it hard to hear someone talking in the car.

 

what kind of whistling noise is it? metal like or air like whistle?

 

to be honest with you..changing the throttle body is really easy to swap out.. as far price goes it really depends on were you buy the throttle body from.. plus if you buy a used one.. you never know what kind of condition it could be in ..and it has to be a gsr throttle body.. if you change the intake manifold to a b16 or something you could use an LS b16, or type r if you wanna spend some money..

I have a whistle that comes and goes too. its actually a torque leak from my exhaust. it leaks at the front side of the cat at ~1/4 - 1/2 throttle.

 

my intake makes a high spooling sound in higher rpm:O...but its not turbo
