Default Temp guage not working

My temp needle is no longer working. It isnt dead though, it bounces in the beginning, but eventually it just dies. I dont have time to look at it tonight cause im at work, but do you guys think it could be a loose wire or something? I'm not sure if this matters, but i was on the interstate doing 85mph for 2 hrs before i came home today and its really hot out (100+). Could this have anything to do with it? Thanks in advance!

lose wire. its a single green w/ yellow stripe wire (or vise versa) that runs to the intake temp sensor on the left side of the head. its under your dizzy tucked back a ways

Thanks for the reply tortex. Do you think the problem could be from my distributer itself instead of a loose wire? It's raining and i cant check it right now, but i was thinking maybe since ive had so many problems with my distributer it might be that. Thanks!
