over heating question?
this all started last summer when i first got my si hatch and the upper rad hose got a hole in it and all the fluid came out and my car overheated.. we got it fixed but then today after a lot of driving i stopped at a drive through and noticede my temp was higher than normal could this be due to that overheating all that time ago ..? as soon as i started driving it was good again but i stopped to drop off my girlfriend and it started up again.. heres a pic to show kinda what im talkin about green is where it usually is and red is where it was tonight when i ws stopped.
ya i was worried about it at first but it drove for a long time almost a year no problems.. but i have a minor oil leak around the head gasket area as well kinda below the vtec solenoid is there even an oil passage there?
that is usually a sign of a bad fan, if your driving and it is not overheating then the air that is being blown into the radiator is keeping it in operating temp, so leave your car on and see if your fan kicks, if it dosent then you found out your problem, if it does and the temp stays the same, then you might want to look into a thermostat job, but a warped head is not something to rule out.
hey man another option is to have your radiator flushed. but I am inclined to believe and I know you don't wanna here this but ya warped the head. my expierience is more tumes than not when a 4 cyl is over heated the head warps but who knows good luck
ya it was weird almost seemed as soon as the wheels started tomove the temp went down..
wouldnt i have to have some speed to have air cool the radiator? the temp went down at like 5 mph through the parking lot

I had that same problem with my EK, and i found it was my fan. All i did was add a on / off switch to the fan and if it started to move / or if ther ewas traffic i would flip it on and the temp goes down again.
My plan shortly is to get a temp gauge so if it goes up i put the fan on.

What about the water pump...as soon as the revs go up the temp drops... Try this, put it in neutral, and when it starts to overheat rev the motor... I would bet on the water pump becuase they vanes have been known to corode over time.
