timing?? huh?
Idk what my issue is. I was driving one day and my car backfired on me. I babied it the rest of the way home and had to open it up to do some other maintenance. I am almost positive I set timing correctly and have reset it twice but my car now sputters and backfires when I push the accelerator then stalls out. Did I do some dmg or am I just not getting the timing right. I replaced spark plugs, distributor cap and rotor as a precaution because I thought I might not have been getting spark, but still no progress. This really upsets me because I was doing my last checkup and torque down before I strap this newly built motor down to get dyno tuned. I am currently running a base map on my build that my tuner made for this specific motor. I have not taken the motor over 7k rpm during this first 1k miles of it's life. It is a b18c with S2S2 bump sticks, full valvetrain, port n polish, arp studs on head and rods, and jdm p30's. Please give me some suggestions of what to check and what might be my problem. My buddy can't come over with his timing light till next week so I am hoping I can resolve this earlier and without the cost of a mechanic. TY in advance.
