Default Wheel stud pressing

So i took my R to NBT today to get an estimate of how much it would cost to fix my broken wheel stud and after checking it out on a lift he said no need to take off the wheel stud........?? Now im super confused cuz how do they press out the broken wheel stud and press in the new one if the dust pan is in the way. Do they also hammer out the old stud??? they also told me it would only cost 60 bucks to fix.....

It can be pounded out without a press. I just cut the head halfway off and it makes it easier.

He will have to remove the wheel. He will probably end up hammering out the old one but if I am not mistaken, he may have to press the hub out of the bearing. If he does this, it is recommended that the wheel bearing be replaced when doing this.

^^ Good point migs. I was about to edit my post but I'll just follow your's. That being said, pounding it out isnt the correct Honda way of doing it. If you are paying for it you might as well pay a little more and do it right the first time.

So i called the place back and the guy actually said I can get it fixed by the "book" which is to remove the hub it self, but he said he is going to charge much more. I think for now its more economical to fix it the easy way. =/

just remove the caliper and the little bit of room you have is enough to punch it out with a hammer.

the new one just shave it down a bit on the backside to fit it more easily in between the knuckle and rotor. very easy DIY
