What engine is currently in the vehicle? What ecu? someone already did a mpfi swap on the vehicle? need more info...
If someone already did the mpfi swap and is using a pm6(si) ecu, then all you would have to do is install the new engine and plug in all the connectors.
If you have an si trans I would highly recommend putting that in the car as well. The final drive makes a huge difference.

also it has a greddy emange if we take it off will it still be in the ecu? will we have to swap it, he has another ecu for the 1.6 anyways

the d16y8 is a obd2 engine so the engine harness is not compatible with the harness in you car.
Back in the day I installed a d16y7 in my 4dr dx. I used the D15b7's engine harness. You will have to modify the harness if you plan on using the odb2 intake and injectors.
Simple wire spilce and resolder.
Sounds like you got the obd2 ecu with the engine.
I would sell it and buy a p28. That will plug right in to your existing harness.
Then just run the extra v-tec wires.
