Default Bent back Door, how to repair

so i was backing my 97 hatch into my garage last night and somehow forgot the drivers door was still open and bent the door back as it hit the side of the garage. I bent it back to where it somewhat lines up but it still won't close completely. the door lock and inside handle will not lock/return to its resting position. if i could just get it to lock into place i can crawl in and out of the passenger side, but it just flops open whenever i try to close it.

how do i fix this?

It could be the hinge.. Check that because sometimes if the hinge is messed up it wont let it close correctly or if you actually damaged the door buy a new hatch when your trial status is over you can check the market place.

i just reread my post and realised it didn't make sense. it was the drivers front door not the hatch.

i would start looking at 'pick-a-parts' for the driver door hinges.

ok so i got the door to fit right, but the latch is not working properly. i think i'm just going to try to get a whole new door and hinge assembly from a junk yard.

Check the rods inside the door for the handle. One could've been knocked loose or bent which can jam the latch open.
