throw a knock sensor wire malf code, using a OBD2 code reader.......
trying to find out where this sensor is located on the engine, what it does. looked in haynes yet is mass produced general crap! can anyone help!?

 

Hm, on my Y8 it was right below cylinder 2 on the intake manifold. Big socket required to remove it, about a 27mm or so. Cylinder 2 as in looking from driver's seat, that is. Second farthest from belts.

Best of luck. Should be same on Y5 I'd guess. (Different on Y7 of course, since they lack a knock sensor. :-))

 

true! i found it however it is a big "plug" in the motor therefore the sensor isnt there. since the threads to plug are diff size than the sensor i have to fins some sort of adapter, its more or less a pain the butt
anyone know where i can get that from
