Default help? seriously...

sup everyone. i am in need of help, advices, theories, etc. I own a 98 integra ls, the problem is, it won't start after i did a tranny swap. there is no crank when i turn the ignition all the way. the battery seems works fine which the lights, radio, speedo, etc works fine. i checked the starter and it seems fine from what i know but not sure. ground wires are fine but also not sure if there is more out there which are not properly on right. anyways, I manually started the car by using a speaker connect from the battery positive. to the starter and it starts up fine but if i turn the engine off and try to start it again, it won't start. also the cel is on and i checked it, it threw out cel #9 which isn't the answer to my problem (cyp or something like that).

questions:
1) is my main rely bad (where is it located btw)
2) do i need a new starter (maybe because it won't start by turning the ignition?)
3) could it be fuse problem?
4) do i need a complete new ignition?
5) any other ground wires that i don't know that's not on?

any thoughts and idea will be helpful. i seriously need this car running. please any help?

Have someone crank the key to start while you check for voltage at the signal wire from the starter. I you get power then that means that your relay, ignition switch and everything else is fine, thus condemning the starter.

That's the neutral safety switch, it's worth a shot
The starter doesn't sound to be the problem, cause if the starter was defective, it wouldn't work when it's jumped directly. Unless the starter solenoid went out?

Also starter relay could be bad as well as your distributor/distributor wiring.

make sure the connections on your battery are nice and tight also..something tells me this is a simple fix that is taking way to long to solve

Have you tried someone elses starter yet? If not, have you checked the nuetral safety switch? If not, do it.

The dizzy wouldn't be the cause of this problem I don't think. It's not cranking, therefore narrowing the problem area to the starter curcuit.

Could also be your ignition cylinder in your steering column.

if you look at the clutch pedel arm up towards the dash you will see where the swutch hits

also check the ignition switch, mine had a bad spot in it so everything was ok until i tried to start it then it would gound out and nothing would happen

Get yourself a Haynes Manual from autozone for like $20. It's a great book for stuff like this and much more.

you can push the button and try to start it. If the car starts, you need to put something on the back of the clutch pedal to push it in because the switch is not being depressed.

you can also disconnect the wires leading to the switch and connect them to close the circuit and start the car. If the car starts, you can either leave the wires connected or you need to get a new switch.

Check your ICM, and the Igniter coil in the dizzy. My last statement saying that the dizzy doesn't have anything to do with that is false. If the ICM is shot completely it wont crank.

You can also take your starter to autozone or your local auto parts store and get it tested, more than likely for free.
