Need a quick answer. Going from reciruclated dumptube to open. Do I need a retune?

My dumptube goes into my downpipe at a horrible 90 degree angle. But I already forked out the $200 to get it tuned. Now I want to run an open dumptube and I'm wondering whether this will affect the tune. I dont want to spend another $200 just for a few horses of an open tube if I'll need a retune. If I'll need a retune then I'm just going to get the angle fixed at a muffler. Although I would rather have it open. So do I need a retune if I go from recirculated to open?

In this thread, the general consensus was that when going from open to closed a retune wasn't needed. But how about the opposite--going from closed to open? Is a retune needed. Any other opinions? Any help is appreciated.

What is your thought process behind this?

Unless your car was tuned on the absolute edge AFRs wise, I doubt you will need a retune.
Nevertheless, wouldn't hurt to check. Car might need a bit more fuel through boost, it'll be marginal at best though.
Whatever you do, make sure the tube vents in a place the turbo can't breath it in.

Cool thanks. Before I do anything though I'll give my tuner a call and go from there. But I'm leaning towards opening it up pending his approval. There no way I'm spending another $200 when i just got it tuned a couple of days ago and for only a few horses.
Done it a bunch. No, retuning isn't necessary, but your boost controller may need a little adjustment, since there will no longer be any backpressure issues that you previously had with the closed system.

I was considering going from open to closed, but not gonna do it now since I read that other thread you posted.

just monitor your afr if you can.
but since you have no boost controller your fine since your wastegate will open at 9 anyways and i dont see much need for a retune since your not going to boost higher?
