Switching from open to closed loop dumptube - How much will it affect my tune?
Like the title says. I'd like to do this, but I'm curious if I'll need another tune. I know I'll lose a few hp, but it's worth it to me. Does anyone know what will happen?
Not needed. It will be the same.
I dynoed (low boost/HP ~ 240whp) and saw no difference in power between open and closed loop dump. I removed the dump tube while the car was on the dyno. (I actually gained ~1whp when closed loop.... This is probably because it took me about 10 mins to remove the dump tube and the car cooled down a bit).
If your engine is flowing enough air that the dumped exhaust + regular exhaust together are restricted in 3" exhaust (or whatever you are running) then you will lose power. Else it doesn't really make much of a difference at all.

Make sure to install the dump tube at the smallest angle possible to avoid a lot of turbulence. I would also try to place it at least 8-10 inches after the turbine flange on the dp.
