Hey i got a 03 civic lx and i was wondering if it is actually possible to boost on a automatic....Or i have heard that a supercharger would be better because of instant forced induction. Any thoughts?
thanx

the FAQ is almost entirely about your engine. the transmission really makes very little difference when it comes to the basics. you wont be able to run kpro wiht an automatic. and you'll want to beef up the tranny some. other than that boosting a d17 wtih an automatic is basically teh same as boosting it with a manual tranny

didnt know there wasnt a difference. I just assumed that the engine was a different build made for auto, and that the manual version was a completely different type of d series....if i even make sense....

and thanx daddy that was informative... i may go forth with my plans now.

muahahaha....

before you do, realize that the transmission will be in the way of alot of manifold options. Ive gone through 3 possible types and many of them do not fit due to the tight clearance. and as for the transmission, a tranny cooler should be enough for mild boost. its not the HP that breaks it, its the tq.

lastly, if you had to make this thread, i highly doubt your ready for forced induction. people think they can just slap **** on and be done with it but it isnt as simple as that.
