check wiring to the ecu and wiring under hood. you ve probably have knock something loose. there are three thing that the factor ecu (not chipped) looks for to engage vtec. water temp, speedo sensor and oil pressure.

make sure your vtec pressure switch and solenoid are still connected..like UJ said, its very possible you knocked something loose...next time try not to pull a dukes of hazzard on your dx its not ment for that

If you haven't seen your oil pickup, think of it as a straw at the bottom of your oil pan. If you bent your oil pan .5" or something it could be blocking the pickup. It requires like 50psi or oil pressure to engage.

It'll engage electronically as long as the coolant temp , speed, sensor and oil pressure are there. This might be a dumb answer, but are you sure it's not your IABs that are not engaging? Those make a lot of noise when they engage, which many people think is VTEC.

No my vtec was engauging perfectly before this happen after this i will wind it out to about 7 grand and no vtec at all cus it wud engage around 5500 before, But my coolant is full my oil is full my temp is fine but my speed senser doesnt work i need to change that but it worked before without it i guess ill just have to pull off the oil pan and check what happen if thats anything but im still really clueless... And my car also rides funny now sometimes it will idle high out of no where then i have to reset the ecu to bring it back to normal and it wont run as hard as it use to no more.

This thread is great. I think it's your oil pan and your VSS. People talk about oil pan dents keeping VTEC from engaging after the first post and on pg 3.
