Question about bigger injectors, Hondata, and FPR. Need advice.
You guys have the most experience with larger injectors, Hondata, and all out tuning. I have a question for you guys.
I have a 84+mm 11.8 CR GSR camshaft motor. *Was* as GSR motor. haha.
I'm going to hit the dyno VERY soon and want to get it tuned correctly. I'm only going to tune the timing and fuel. Don't have camshafts and gears yet. I want to leave the dyno with a VERY reliable motor that can be driven hard just like it felt the factory. Not really concerned about numbers since this is basically an initial tune.
I have 310s injectors and a Hondata stage 2. Do I need a FPR? Funds are on the low side and will ONLY buys items if they are a must.
Can the car be tuned with just injectors and Hondata? What advantages will I get with a FPR?
Voice out your opinion.

Not too familiar with the Hondata (as to how much fuel you can take away), but you will be running really rich with 310s and you will need a fpr to drop pressure. (that is, unless the hondata can take away the fuel)
Hondata is a standalone.
You really think I will be running very rich on a 2.0 liter 12:1 CR motor. Granted I'm still using GSR camshafts ...
More opinions please.

Well as long as your fuel pressure is stock, and you know what it is, you can simply configure the Hondata to use that fuel pressure. I have a B&M, and I did not even touch it once when I tuned the fuel with mo Hondata. I have 440 cc's BTW

As of now - no buy.
I say get the FPR. Stock fuel pressure is set up for a stock 1.8 motor. You now have a 2litre and high compression. You will need more fuel. You don't want to run lean. What was the point of getting 310cc if you are keeping the same fuel pressure?
Since we are on the subject of FPR, im having some trouble with mine. Sorry to butt in on this post, but can someone help me out? https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=236218

Your car will run rich with 310cc injectors. You do not need the FPR or gauge. Just tune the car w/ Hondata and you will be fine.

I'd forget the FPR and trade up to 440cc injectors... you might actually run the injectors a little hard at OE fuel pressure... depends on how well you are letting that 2.0 breath... for your information, you can idle 720cc if you want with the Hondata...
