hey i am building a motor with a b16 head and gsr block. It has a gsr timing belt but when put on was very loose even after tightening it all the way. tried to put a b16 belt on and is too tight ,,,,,no way to get that biatch on there.... gsr head studs, gsr water pump don't know what else to try....PLease help me out i wanna kill myself
You ALWAYS use the belt to match the BLOCK. GSR belt is what you need. I'd double check your routing, make sure the tensioner is on right (is the one side on the little tip like it should be?). I have a GSR block with B16 head in my wife's coupe right now and the GSR belt fits perfect.
Also, DO NOT use the 19T water pump. These pumps tend to cavitate at high RPM's; that's why Honda put a 22T on it.
