Replacing the gasket on the oil pan but having difficulty removing the actual gasket from the pan. Whoever did work on it before bonded the entire length of the seal and the gasket almost seems to have fused w/ the metal. I've tried using razor blades and chipping away at it but only tiny chunks are breaking apart. Does anyyone know if using Gasket Remover spray or even torching it will help?

 

try paint stripper if its that bad.

otherwise, sit down with a 6 pack and a stack of razor blades.

ditto on wire wheel. stuff some newspaper down in the pan to help keep the gasket out of it.

 

i used a putty knife and a six pack on my buddies prelude. and a heat gun to loosen it up. it work pretty good imo.

 

try some paint stripper or gasket remover if it's that bad. If anything you can use a drill with a wire wheel.
