Default help 2001 civic trans need help fast

ok i got this car i have to fix for my freind what i need to know is how to drop the transmission, i knwo for the earlier civics its real easy but theres the frame in the way so i cant just drop it down i need to change a seal in it cuz its leaking, well how to i get that thing out

it's really not that bad. you'll have to disconnect the lower control arms and remove the exhaust, which you'll be doing to make room and remove the axles anyways. I haven't been able to remove a trans in one of these cars without taking out the subframe, unless you pull the motor from the top. One time I decided to do a head swap, clutch and timing belt at the same time, so I just pulled the whole motor out.

ill see what i can do tommarow if comes to it ill just take it all out, u said u have to take out the control arms to take out the axles, i just take he two bolts off the struts and then i pop the axles out

doesnt matter either way. I just always pop out the lower ball joints if i know the subframe is coming out.

yeah i looked under and over, i dont thing i can get it from the top so im going to have to take the subframe out, why would they make it like that, they could have made it 4 inches wider or something
