Sunroof help? please help!
ok i just bought a new sunroof motor, because mine would pop up, but not go back, or barely pop back down.
now, it will pop up, and slide back a couple inches, and thats it. when i go to put it back down, it drops early, and slides back (scratched my goddamn roof!!!) and it wont make it all the way down...now my question:
if the motor is good, what else would cause it to power down so badly and not work properly?
thanks

the belt could be slippin...inside the car there is that round circle piece...after the middle sun visor... pop it off... stick an allen wrench (key) in there tighten it up....wd-40 the tracks and hope it works....good luck .. if it doesn't work.. pay a 100 bucks to have someone else fix it

You probably didnt need a need motor to begin with. It happens to a lot of guys. All you need to do is clean the tracks and regrease them, I think its white grease but theres a technical name for it. That might have helped your problem in the beginning but it seems you got another problem now with the new motor and roof scratching.

Re: Sunroof help? please help! (PDM)
the motor was only 20 bucks for a good working one off ebay...
i'll regrease the tracks and try tightening it....it just seems it loses all power after about 2-3 inches of poping and going back, and loses power after about 1-2 inches of going forward.
still can't figure out why it wont stay popped up as it goes back into place then drops
