Default H22 Lower Compression 2 headgaskets? Search Words: 2HG, H22-T H22 Turbo

I searched and people said try Greddy to lower compression on the stock block. So upon searching for the HG, all I could find was a whole bunch of nothing, haha. I was wondering what compression running 2 HG's would yield? Would the head and block seal correctly with this? Am I in a fantasy land or is this a good idea? Would block security be compromised?

bad bad bad idea, it wont work. dont do it.

here is an H series compression calculator, find a thick head gasket, plug in the numbers and you'll know what you'll be at:

The problems from 2 headgaskets outways the benefits. Yes it will comprimise the
head sealing.

What is your reasoning for wanting to do this? Give use some more details on your setup? By doubling the headgasket you might only be looking at a lower 0.1 to 0.3 on the compression ratio. This is not really gonna have much of an added benefit!

Blinx:

Where would I find a thicker Head Gasket?

Steven:

Gotcha, I am a noob to turbo's so I was just wondering. A thicker headgasket would be beneficial on an H22 right?

How beneficial? I was hoping for maybe 350whp w/out building the block and safely on pump gas.

first question is do you have a JDM H22 or USDM H22?

you can get a .040" headgasket from http://www.dh-racing.com/gasket.html
it will drop your compression by about .4

i put a .080 cometic hg in my freinds boosted euro r h22.This car makes 300 whp on 10 psi,and he beats the hell out of it like he stole it.I thought forsure the ringlands would have cracked by now but it has been running strong for about a year now.

It's all in the tune with the H series.

Tuning is going to be a much better safeguard tha simply lowering static compression with a thicker headgasket. That's not the weak point of the H22, it is in other areas internally to not like more than 300whp.

Tuning is your solution. Not stacking headgaskets.

Truth

We have an SC6176E on my friends CB7 thats making a tad over 400 on a BONE STOCK block... No studs, no nothing.... Stock from intake/VC to pan.

He beats the **** out of it too... Thats on the JDM motor with 10.6:1 too.

Its all in the tuning.

How long will it last??? who knows, but I wouldnt dream of putting some hack of a headgasket in MY motor, neither should you.

Good luck
