Aluminum Radiators..... what exactly are all the benificiaries of an aluminum radiator? I know they're light in weight... but is that it??? I'm debating on getting one or not but i don't know the general consensus on it.

Most of the aftermarket AL rads like Koyo, C&R, or Visteon are a lot larger in size and capacity. This improves cooling by increasing surface area and volume of coolant.

My fullsized Koyo rad is heavier than the stock rad empty. With coolant, it is by far much heavier with the added coolant capacity.

 

Anyone ran into cooling issues with having the larger radiator. I heard of it actually causing you to overheat because it is too big. That's why most people go with a civic 1/2 radiator instead. Just wanted to know the truth.

That's not true at all. A koyo/fluidyne style dual core OEM style radiator will not cause these problems on a Prelude.

I've never heard of that cause before. I know the reason why many people run civic 1/2 size radiators is b/c they make room for their turbo setup and/or they removed their AC.
