b20vtec overheating

Default b20vtec overheating

im having some overheating problems..after about 20 mins of driving my car it starters to overheat..but for some reason it jumps from all the way hot and goes back to mid mark at idle..whats up with that..no white smoke while i drive..no sweet smell like im burning coolant..i figure out my fans werent cuttin on so i jumps the plug so they stay on..but im still getting the same problem...could it be bad radiator or water pump..if so i can i tell..please help thaanks

is your coolant level full? system bled?

Air in the system or wiring connection maybe.

might wanna check the thermostat...might need to be replaced...or just get rid of it all together. don't let your B20V over heat...i've seen them over heat and usually the sleeves get jacked up and they'll need to be re-sleeved

Do you know what the car was actually running at for temp? What size core are you running?

running temp on a B20V is approximately around 175-200...i could be wrong though but i'll check tomorrow night (i'm re-tuning my motor on a dynojet). i'm running a koyo half size radiator with a slim fan from Autozone

thermostat/fan switch/ correct fluid levels/bleed the system, sounds like an air bubble.

100% is better for heat transfer than coolant replace the whole system if you decide to do this down the road.

what causes the fans not to come on...checked all fuses and replaced fan swtich
