Has anyone ever used a DOHC bottom end and a SOHC head ? if so what kind of head studs do i use ? PLEASE HELP. Thank You

 

No, that is not possible.

 

Are you sure because they are both zc motors

 

if remember correctly, ZC motors came w/ sohc and dohc heads...the bottom end on those motor are same, but i could be wrong

 

Ya they do im trying to put a zc dohc bottom end with a zc sohc head

 

you should be able to use the stock studs it come with then

 

You can't because the dohc head is a little taller than a sonc head.

Yes but the ones made for the head are to thin and do not screw in to the block.

 

Holy crap the answer is no, it won't work.

The oil and coolant passages do not match up therefore resulting in a leaking, overheating mess even if you could frankenstein it together somehow.

Years ago a guy came in here with a topic about a D15 bottom with D16A8 head (think 86-89 ZC-like DOHC engine, D series) and it turned into a 10 page topic, and ultimately the guy admitted it ran like crap, leaked, blew head gaskets all the time, etc.

You could certainly take the rods/pistons out of that DOHC bottom end, if it's a ZC, and put them into a SOHC 1.6L bottom end though. The piston domes are taller and result in a nice CR bump.
