Civic Si, Daily driver suspension upgrade suggestions???
I have a 90 Si as my daily driver. Other than 15" Konig Heliums with T1Rs and slotted rotors in front it's stock and in amazing shape for all original parts. I have other cars with serious coilover set ups for maximum handling. But since the Civic is my DD I want to keep it comfortable and I'd like to keep as much ride hight and suspension travel as possible. I know, SO uncool. Everyone seems to slam their civics. But I don't want to drop it more than an inch if that. I want to be able to go camping on dirt roads. I mostly want to keep it flatter and get better damping. I'm thinking thicker sway bars and some mild adjustable shocks like the Tockico Illuminas. Perhaps some slightly lower/stiffer springs if the new shocks have the damping quality to keep the ride comfortable. I also want to keep it relatively inexpensive.
If anyone feels like giving their two cents, please let me know what you'd use to get the results I'm after.

Well heres my two pennies... Tein S-Tech springs and KYB gr-2 shocks. The drop is about an inch and a half, but the ride is very close to stock and its not very expensive. Others on here may have different suggestions, but I think thats the best way to go without spending stupid amounts of money.
Good luck with whatever you decide to do!!!

Do all the maintenance that it needs. Belts, hoses, cables, wiring, fluids, pads, tires, plugs, wires, cap, rotor and etc then work on upgrades that is the best advice out there.

I've recently ridden in a car (not a Honda) with KYBs and was impressed by the ride and handling. I'll have to consider those. Thanks for the suggestion.

I've had the car two years and it's very well maintained. I've done a full timing belt/ water pump service with a mess of seals, gaskets, belts and hoses, etc. It runs strong and consistent. I'm good about oil changes. I've put in a new radiator, battery, plug wires, plugs. It's gotten slotted rotors and hawk pads. I may do braided lines. It's a very well sorted out car. I rarely see EFs as well taken care of. What it needs now is a freshened and upgraded suspension. But I don't want to stray to far from the OEM feel. Just more control and less roll.
