Default crank position sensor

I have a 97 accord w/F22B2 motor that I just replaced timing belt on. After putting it all back together I started it and it idled fine. At about 2500 rpm the engine starts to lope. The check engine light is on and shows crank position sensor fail according to ob2 tester. The manual shows a 8 pin connector near the distributer that I can't seem to locate to check continuity. There is a 2 wire connector and a four wire connector. I look up the part online and it looks like what is behind the timing belt pulley. Could this sensor be the cause of my problems. The car seems to run fine at low speeds but wont accelerate

Default Re: crank position sensor (keefe)

I've heard the CPS's are commonly damaged or knocked out of position during timing belt replacements on some Hondas. It may be the harness that gets damaged, anyway if a tech does a timing belt job on a Honda and does not realize that part is there it sometimes gets damaged because it's so close to the service being performed. Hope this helps.
