Default Got a rod knock.

Hey I got a rod knock on the way to work. Took apart already. No serious damage. Any1 know the color codes have Y Y W X 1-4. All connecting rods have 24. System is down at acura. Just need to know the colors so hopefully I can pick them up and slap it together. Thanks for the help. Hopefully I will have some input before they close.

Torque specs from crankshaft caps with girdle. Halfway done. Over 100 views and no help. Got the new bearings in and torque should be done in the next hour.

I wouldn't trust it again..Get a new crank somewhere. Theres damage there that you cant see with the naked eye..

rods are probably out of round due to the heat from the spun bearing... I can see another rod knock in <100miles.

^ Hahaha.

Dude, your crankshaft isn't right. If you're spinning bearings like that, there is some definite damage. Just replace the damn thing.

Well the last time I spun a bearing I was able to patch it up. It happened when the car had 70,000. Happened on number 3. Checked, cleaned and patch up. Lasted until now with 110,000. Bearings didnt overheat they were eaten up. We swapped out the head and put a new belt or water pump. My guess is someone was being a dick and put something dirt in the motor or some ****. I gonna take back apart and check all the clearances again. If not I am going to look for a short block or a long block. To help kill the down time since it is my daily driver. Thanks Bo bo for letting me borrow your Ride. I owe big time.

I would send the crank out to be for trueness. If the crank is scored etc its toast. If it is still good you can have it balanced and knife-edged. Rods are cheap(er), it may not hurt to pickup a set of new OEM rods etc.
