i have a question.. i have a 98 civic ex but i have a minime swap due 2 and engine blown and lack of money so what i have right know is a d16y7 block with a p06-5 head. but the problem is that i don't think my vtec turns on. cause i can hear my solenoid click on if i give it direct power but my engine doesn't do anything and with my d16y8 engine the engine would stall. also i an't hear it go on when i'm driving it just isn't working. could it be that the solenoid iis weak or my rocker assembly is bad????

 

what head is it? a p06-5? a p06 is an ecu that controls the d15b7 engine that has no vtec. bump anyway.

 

i think that's what it says on the head but it comes off a d16z6

So you have an obd1 head with an obd2 ecu? You should have a Y8 head man. gotta swap the sensors from the old head maybe??

 

yeah i have a obd1 head in there cause i got it 4 free. but i changed all the sensors from my y8 head though and it was working before but it just stopped working so im thinking that maybe it's my rocker assembly or something like that. i also changed the vtec pressure switch. i can hear my solenoid click in if i jump it. but nothing is happening. do you have any idea???
