Default glowshift oil sender gague + cdm oil sandwich = oil leaks

now for todays problem my [freak]ing gay *** glowshift oil pressure sender unit thats connected to my cdm oil sandwich leaks like a mother/ i removed it, added some teflon and tightened it real good and it still leaks. right now i wanna kill some kittens.

according to the glowshift website, the sending units is a 1/8 NPT Electrical Sender Unit. i am nut 100% sure on the holes on the cdm sadwich but my stealthmode t3 oil line kit screws into it just fine and dosent leak. belive that oilline fitting is a 1/8 npt

Only thing I can suggest is more teflon tape, use of a copper washer (requires you to have the sender threads all the way into the adaptor) or use some form of silicon sealent on the treads as it goes in.

My ex's saturn leaked when I installed the psi sender but after re installing it with more tape and cranking it all the way into the block it stopped. On my autometer unit I have teflon tape and again the sender is screwed all the way down into the body...

You should only have 2-3 wraps of teflon tape on a NPT fitting. You only need to snug it up if you tighten it to much you can crack the fitting or the housing.

Are you putting the tape on in the right direction ?

You want the tape to to follow the threads so it doesn't bunch up as you thread the fitting in.

I use teflon tape on NPT fittings at work and have no leaks at over 1200psi.

I like to use gasket maker like Hondabond or Permatex Ultra Black/Blue/Copper on fittings that are hard to get to once installed for extra insurance against leaks. Just make sure to clean the area thoroughly, and allow enough time for the sealant to set up before running oil through the connection or heat cycling it.

Hey man I think I have the same problem. I have the glowshift oil pressure unit and their sandwich plate. I thought the leak was coming from the sandwich but i think its the damn sender unit. This pisses me off cause I cant figure out why it leaks no matter how I put it in or tighten it.

I always use hondabond to seal threads. I have a all kinds of AN adapter fittings for my external cooler and filter and not one of them leaks.

don't use teflon on oil surfaces... that just doesn't work. Hondabond is the best. I'd recommend getting the high temp stuff from the dealer rather than the lower temp stuff. Also, there is a cool little gadget that i'd recommend rather than using the oil filter spacer. Here is the link:

Anyway, beside the oil leaks... how is the accuracy of the guage?
