you better hope they didn't send that to the DMV or you are going to have to smog every year.

Fix the problems and you should be good. I passed a stock OBD0 B16a with flying colors here in Cali.

Your car must run like **** at 9 degrees timing. Sounds like youre 1 tooth off if thats the closest you can get to. Get that fixed, do sparkplug, wires, cap and rotor if you havent already. You should pass no problem.

wow... fix your car. I passed a turbo dseries here in IL through smog... a stockish b16 should pass easily if running right. Emphasis on right. Timing and atleast a good street tune are a must.

(even though IL no longer tests obd0 cars I'm gonna go and pay for a smog "fun run" lol just to see how easily my tuned b20vtec with a whole **** ton of bolt ons will pass)

and the comment about a chipped p28 being for racing... not smog... gtfo. I assure you my chipped and well tuned p28 out performs a stock ECU in both smog and racing.

ok by looking at your numbers you are running really rich i would swap your ecu um replace your o2 sensor and if you have been running that rich your cat is probably shot um make sure your thermostat is opening and fix your timming i think the spec is plus or minus two degrees so if its suposed to be at 14 then your allowed 12 degrees or 16 degrees by setting your timming to 12 degrees is better for emisssions its cleaner i would also adjust your valves. what kind of compression do you have? have you done a head gasket lately?

um do you have any exhaust leaks before the o2 sensor also i would change your fuel filter and check your cooling system and check out your map sensor and make sure you dont have any vacum leaks also do a compression test

Default FV-QR

Get chip with stock map for b16.
Conduct basic vehicle maintenance.
Pass smog check.
Go home and have a beer.

with the chip thing
I have two chips a "mugen" race chip and a stock b16 map chip. Could possible have gotten the chips mixed up because I have not labled them

my fault on that one. Chances are I was probably running that "mugen" chip

compression and everything was tested about a year ago before I put the motor in the car. I haven't done much to the car since then so that shouldn't be a problem
I haven't done the head gasket I'll have to look into that sometime in the future.
what is the usual run time on a head gasket for maintence?

I'm going to get the time adjusted today to get that fixed first.
No exhaust leaks although the muffler does have a small hole in it. But I have a extra muffler laying around to replace it with

the engine can be obd0 but you need to wire it up obd-1

so in that aspect yes it will be hard to get your car bar'd if you are running obd-0

you need a p30 Del Sol ECU
p30 intake manifold
4 wire o2 sensor
jumper harness

thats just the small list of things.
There are some other small things that need to be done as well

I passed on my second try. My timing was set at 16 TDC and i had a brand new cat with 5 miles on it, HKS sport exhaust, new NGK spark plugs with 3,000 miles on them, old spark plug wires with probably 40,000 miles on them, Old O2 sensors "never changed them" stock SiR air box and arm with K&N drop in filter. My car was still OBD0 but I was not trying to get it bar'd. I didn't run any kind of cleaner in my car. And I had just did an oil change.
