Doesn't sound like a bad alternator, since it goes off. I would check the tightness of your crank pulley. If your crank pulley is loose and somehow hasn't fallen off yet, it could kick your battery light on and off. Just wondering, what fuse did you replace?

If it's going off/on around turns/straightaways I'd put my money on an open wire. A ground out would explain why you blew the fuse, and it'd also explain why it's intermittent like that - that it's connecting/not connecting.

Just my $0.2 though.

Yeah, I was going to say wiring, but I also wanted to know what fuse he blew before giving him that news, haha.

Yeah, he should post what fuse blew/he replaced, I'm kind of curious about that as well. Though I'd say it's a wiring problem before I say it's an alternator problem, simply because the nature of its occurrence.
