Default Proper tire pressures for an '89-'91 Civic DX Hatch?

I have a '90 Civic Hatch Std. (ED6) that came with size 165-70R13 tires. I recently replaced them with 175-70R13 tires. The sticker in my glove box states the recommended pressure for 165-70R13 tires as 35psi front and 32 psi rear.

What is the proper tire pressure for a 175-70R13 on a DX of the same year? I know this is the OEM size that came on the '90 Civic Hatch DX. Can one of you kind owners of a DX please read your tire pressure label from the glove box and report back.

Thanks, Paul.

there is a sticker in the glove box on the left side telling you what to fill them to per trim spec

this is a good starting point If you want to play around with the PSI you should only add/remove about 5 PSI

and I imagine the sticker for 175's has the same rating

that is the maximum PSI the tire can take, not safe for our small cars (usually 45psi) . the PSI goes this high because other large vehicles use these tires also, and they require higher PSI.

go off of the sticker in your glove box not the max pressure on the tire

With the wider tires you need to run a little more pressures to get away from the wobble. I would suggest 33psi front and 31 rear.

I did the basically same I went from 185/60r14 to 195/60-r14 and those pressures are what I am running.

If you read the sticker more, that pressure is for a full car IE: four passengers and some luggage. If you do most of your driving by yourself or with one passenger you can run less pressures.

If you still need the answer you might try the tire and wheel forum too
