diffrences between 2nd gen & 3rd gen LS blocks ?

Default diffrences between 2nd gen & 3rd gen LS blocks ?

i just picked up a 2nd gen LS block (b18a1) with pr3 (b16a1) pistons and was wondering if there was any diffrences between it and the 3rd gen LS blocks (b18b1) ?

basically everything is the same except for the thermoswitch being on the back of the block for 90-93 and 94+ is on the thermostat housing, also the driver side mount bracket

There is an undrilled spot on the number 3 cylinder that can be drilled and tapped for a knock sensor, then you can use a gsr or b16 ecu. b18b doesnt have this.
