when i rev my car every time it goes past or hits 2000 RPM i hear a rattling sound coming from the engine at first i thought it had something to do with my transmission but it does it even in neutral just reving the engine
any ideas/comments/questions on what it might be?

I'm gonna say its might be your valve lash. Check and recheck those numbers. Edit* I also just now thought of something else. It could be pre-ignition a.k.a. pinging, check your ignition timing and set per specs.

 

have u stuck your head under the hood and heard it happen? i get an exhaust rattle at like 2k. its coming from the heat shield on the cat. cant wait for my new exhaust to be installed.

 

I've removed many Honda/Acura cat heat shields. I would inspect the motor mounts and studs though. Make sure they are torqued down properly.

That would be my guess

Thanks man i dont know why i didnt think of this, i fixed the same problem on my cousins car...... looks like its time for exhaust
