Hey don't know if this has been posted before...but I just recently purchased a 2001 Prelude(Non-SH) and the only problem is that the Idle bounces up and down when still. After a while, the car idles around 1.5rpm and the car is really jerky when driving. Anyone have any suggestions or any help for a new prelude owner?

 

you could check to make sure all the hoses, vacuum lines, etc are connected

Then clean your IACV and see what happens after that. Make sure the coolant hoses that go to and come from the idle air control valve are both free from gunk

 

Hey I unplugged my IACV and the high idle went away but then it still idled between 1200-1600 rpm...felt no vacuum leaks but will try to drain and refill coolant tomorrow. will keep you posted...thanks

Hey quick update...it turned out to be ITM gasket leak. And rough idle was due to channel in ITM for EGR being full of carbon deposits. So cleaned out really good with carb cleaner. After all said and done, car runs smooth.
